WP326 Waterproofing Light Weight FC Sheeting (Brick Bond Pattern)

Preparation:

  1. All surfaces to be waterproofed must be firm, clean, dry, sound and smooth. All grease, oil, wax, curing compounds, loose material, paint and any other contaminants must be removed, surfaces must be pointed flush and surface defects repaired.

  2. External corners to be waterproofed must be bevelled to ensure a smooth transition of membrane from vertical to horizontal surfaces.

Installation:

  1. Waterproofing installation shall be in accordance with the applicable provisions of the National Construction Code.

Tile installation shall be in accordance with AS 3958 Installation of Ceramic and Stone Tiles.

  2. Cut WPA 1500 to the desired length, leaving no more than a 5mm wide gap between the product and the perimeter.

WPA 1500 is a next generation, high performance decoupling and waterproofing sheet membrane for use under tile and stone installation in commercial and residential applications.

  3. Apply TPA Lite to cementitious substrates using a 6mm x 6mm notched trowel and place WPA 1500 into the wet adhesive. Install the adjacent sheet(s) by following the above instructions, butting the sheets closely together without overlapping. TPA Lite is a premium grade, white, fibre-reinforced, flexible cement-based tile adhesive, based on a lightweight formulation.

  4. To the upturns, apply WPA 460 or WPA 560 primer to the substrate.

WPA 460 is a two-part, water-based epoxy primer, used to seal concrete and masonry surfaces.

WPA 560 is a two-part, water-based epoxy primer, designed as a water and vapour proof coating under waterproofing membranes.

  5. Apply WPA 200  to all upturn transitions, extending it 100mm both sides of the junction and ensuring all cavities in the WPA 1500 are filled. Embed the WPA Elastoband into a wet coat of WPA 200 with a brush or appropriate plastic trowel, ensuring all air pockets are removed.

WPA 200 is a flexible, two-part, rapid-drying, cementitious waterproofing membrane system, specifically designed for use under tile, stone and exposed applications.

WPA Elastoband is an innovative detailing system designed for waterproofing and sealing all types of joints, junctions and transitions subjected to movement.

  6. Coat over the WPA Elastoband with additional WPA 200, ensuring the fabric is completely embedded.

  7. Apply WPA 200 to all sheet side and end joints with the flat side of a notched trowel, covering 100mm on both sheets and ensuring the cavities of the WPA 1500  are filled. Embed the WPA Fibreglass Mesh into the wet WPA 200 and with the flat side of a notched trowel. Ensure that no folds or creases are formed.

  8. Once membrane has completely cured, install tiles using TPA 401M or TPA Lite tile adhesive.

TPA 401M is a white, flexible, powdered adhesive for wall and floor applications.

TPA Lite is a premium grade, white, fibre-reinforced, flexible cement-based tile adhesive, based on a lightweight formulation.

  9. Grout tiles using TPA Tru Colour Grout or an approved alternative.

TPA Tru Colour Grout is a high-performance stain & efflorescence resistant grout. It is designed for use with most types of Ceramic, Mosaic, Natural Stone and Glass Tiles.

  10. Install backing rod to all perimeter and intermediate movement joints and seal with TPA Tru Colour Sanitary Silicone or approved alternative.

TPA Tru Colour Sanitary Silicone is a mould-resistant, non-diluted, high-performance, UV-resistant, neutral cure silicone sealant.
